Safety Awareness Meet

Safety awareness meet on Occupational Health and Safety was held on 03rd December 2023 at Institution of Engineers (India) , Kolkata. The Chairman, NSC-WB Chapter kindly graced the occasion and inaugurated the Programme.
The theme for the National Safety Day was “Our Aim – Zero Harm”. Workers, union representatives, and management representatives from various factories & construction sites of West Bengal attended the event in large numbers.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Shaon Sen, Additional Secretary, Labour Department, Government of West Bengal. In her address, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety in the workplace. She also highlighted the significant initiatives undertaken by the West Bengal government for the welfare of industries and workers.
Several experts shared valuable insights on how to maintain safety protocols in the workplace during the event. Prominent personalities present at the event included Smt. Sharmila Khatua, Additional Labour Commissioner, Shri Ashis Kumar Shit, Chief Inspector of Factories, West Bengal, and Shri Gautam Roy, Chairman, NSC West Bengal Chapter.
