Welcome to National Safety Council - West Bengal Chapter

National Safety Council, West Bengal Chapter, is one of the Chapters of National Safety Council set up by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India (GOI) on 4th March, 1966. It was established in March, 1972 to focus on accident prevention by identifying local needs and fostering a safety culture through campaigns, training etc. in local language wherever required in the State of West Bengal.  The Chapter is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration. Act, 1961.It is a non-profit making society. It functions in accordance with the Memorandum of Association and the Bye-Laws, as approved by the NSC Board.

The West Bengal Chapter has been playing a crucial role in developing cooperation among various professionals and Organisations in the promotion of safety right from its inception. The main objective of the Chapter is to undertake and promote Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) at the State level and help in expanding NSC’s reach. This is achieved by:

The chapter functions as per MoA & Bye-Laws approved by the Board of Governors of the National Safety Council. The Chapter is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration.   • Organising and conducting training programmes, conferences, seminars & workshops;
  • Preparing and distributing HSE materials, newsletter, digital materials etc. in English and Bengali
  • Organising and celebrating various campaigns viz. National Safety Day/Week, World Safety Day, World Environment Day etc.
  • Facilitating organisations in celebrating/observing various campaigns viz. National Safety Day/Week, World Safety Day, World Environment Day etc.
  • Developing and disseminating innovative techniques and practices in the field Safety, Health and Environment
  • Collaborating with NSC, HQs in promoting Safety, Health and Environment.
  • Organising Safety Film show & exhibition etc.
