National Safety Day

The 51st National Safety Day was observed on March 4, 2022 at Utsav Mancha, Shramik Kalyan Bhavan, Kankurgachi in Kolkata, West Bengal. The event was organized by the National Safety Council, West Bengal Chapter in collaboration with the Directorate of Factories and the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
Labour Minister, Shri Becharam Manna, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the need to cultivate safety culture among young minds and new workers. He urged all stakeholders to take necessary steps to reduce accidents in factories and the unorganized sector.
Experts shared valuable insights on workplace safety, and trade union representatives also spoke at the event. Prominent personalities present included Shri Ashis Kumar Shit, Chief Inspector of Factories, West Bengal, and Shri Gautam Roy, Chairman, NSC West Bengal Chapter.
